Welcome to my website! I am Ernest Almond. Man of God. Husband. Father. Church-planting Pastor. My passion in Christ is to lead the people of my generation and beyond into intimate and authentic relationship with Him. To that end, the Lord has recently led me to relocate to Jacksonville, Florida to walk out my calling by launching a local church here. My goal is to be a servant teacher for the community, breaking down biblical truths plainly so that we all can understand the relevance of the Word of God to our everyday lives.
I’m the son of a preacher man, the late Rev. Moses Almond, Sr. and Mable Almond, and I grew up in small-town Dudley, North Carolina. I received Christ as my personal Lord and Savior at 16 and began pursuing my ministry call at 22. Since that time, I’ve been blessed to serve as a Youth Minister and a performing hip-hop artist (I was even selected twice to minister at the annual Holy Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta). Most recently, I assisted the college and young adult ministries at World Overcomers Christian Church, led by Pastor Andy Thompson in Durham, North Carolina.
In addition, I have worked as a teacher for over a decade and been featured on nationally syndicated education television programming. I have degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) and North Carolina Central University (Eagle Pride!). I truly enjoy the company of my lovely wife Erin and my awesome daughter Samiyah. I love God. I love people, and my ministry approach is based on this principle written by the Apostle Paul: “become all things to all men so that by all possible means [we] might save some”(I Cor 9:22b).
